Lovran (ili Lauriana) najstarije je naselje istočne obale Istre spomenuto u povjesnim izvorima, već u 7. st. Davne 1844.g. započinje razvoj turizma na Opatijskoj rivijeri i Opatija postaje elitno zimovalište i lječilište mondenog svijeta Srednje Europe. Krajem 19.st. i Lovran postaje dio turističke rivijere, jedinstvenog spoja klimatskih, vegetacijskih i kulturnih osobnosti.

Lovran (Lauriana) is the oldest settlement on the east coast of Istria mentioned in the historical sources, already in the 7th century. In the year 1844, the development of torism starts on the Opatija Riviera and Opatija becomes elite winter and health resort for wealthy part of midlle Europe. At the end of 19th century Lovran becomes part of tourist Riviera as well, with the unique mixture of climate, vegetation and cultural features.
